Cards, Bets, and Big Losses... For Ryan.

We have the next week off of school and have been enjoying our break so far. For the last 3 nights we have gotten together with our friends Sarah and Rhett and have played games. It has been so much fun to have our husbands home and stressfree!!! Tonight we decided to teach them a card game called "Idiot". After a couple of warm up games we came up with something that the loser..aka..Idiot.. had to do. We decided that the loser would have to stuff a bag full of huge rolls in their mouth and chew it up. Well, here is the Idiot!

Ladies- back off. this attractive man is all mine!! I don't know how he got his face in such a position in the last photo but I sure hope it doesn't get stuck like that..

Sorry Ryan, better luck next time!

Outcome of Our Second Game...Ryan's Luck Got Worse..

The second game that we played, we decided to raise the stakes. As a result, Ryan lost and had to do a fully-clothed cannon-ball in the pool while yelling "cowabunga!!" It was priceless because there were some gangster looking teenagers in the pool area.

Ryan looks pretty sad as he takes the walk of shame home. Hopefully my card playing skills will rub off on him sometime soon.

I've Been Tagged....

So I've been tagged and now get to share 7 things that describe who I am. I was tagged by Abbie, you can see her 7 things at http://joshvandy.blogspot.com/. Here we go .....

1 - I love my family!! I have always been a home-body because let's face it, my family rocks!! When we are together we are constantly laughing whether at eachother or someone else. We are sarcastic and make fun of eachother constantly but know that we have eachother's back no matter what. I have fallin in love with my new little family and love every minute that I get to spend with Ryan and our little boy. I crave the little breaks in between semesters so that I get to be with my man and Dane gets to be with his daddy. Ryan and I have a great friendship and honestly hardly ever fight. Ryan never leaves me without resovling the problem which is a quality I respect so much. He will sacrifice going to study, going to sleep, or believe it or not... a football game until he knows that I have said all that I want to say and we are both happy again. I am gradually learning more patience the more I am around him. He rarely gets upset, annoyed, and is usually the first to apologize when we dissagree. Now that is a true man. And... he has a pair of the nicest legs I've seen on a guy and pretty darn good lookin face too.

2 - I love my reality shows. I know, I am lame but I am addicted to almost all reality shows. The Hills, Laguna Beach, The Bachelor, Kardashians, ... you name it, I am hooked. It probably sounds like I am a lazy couch potato but because I have tevo, I can watch my shows in half the time! Got to go, my show is starting...

3 - I love food! I get so giddy thinking about food. I wish that I was loaded so that I could go on date night every night and eat out at different restaurants. I love most types of food but my favorite is Mexican. I have always enjoyed it but I craved it while I was pregnant and I still crave it. I don't think I have ever not felt like mexican food. Although I love food (restaurant and home-cooked meals) I am not a really a fan of desserts. I like candy and some sweets but I am not into cakes, pies, pastries, cobblers,... I get grossed out by cooked fruit especially! I could live off of cold, fresh fruit but in my opinion fruit should NEVER be cooked.

4 - I am extremely competitive. I enjoy playing games whether it is a sport or board game. The bad thing is.. Ryan is really competitive too. If we are not on the same team, Ryan usually is mad (because my team always wins of course...)Ryan would also probably say that I am not a good loser... or winner, BUT I AM!! j/k.

5 - The summer before my senior year of high school I was talking to a bunch of people at work. For some reason we were talking about stitches and sprains and I started bragging about how I had never had stitches, sprains, a broken bone, a black eye, or even been stung by a bee. Well that weekend I went to the lake with a bunch of people and thought I would go ahead and be the 3rd person on a two man tube. We fell hard and my friend's knee hit me in the eye. Before I reached the surface of the water, my eye filled my hand that I had cupped over it. I thought for sure I was going to be blind. I was so embarrassed and did not want to take my hand off of my eye because I could just feel how ugly it was. She was whining about how much her knee hurt and showed everyone the bruise that had already formed. Finally I took my hand off my eye and by everyone's reaction I knew it was pretty bad. I decided to just go and relax on the house boat for the rest of the day. I was laying out for maybe 5 minutes before I got stung by a bee on the bottom of my foot. I started my senior year with a huge black eye and since then have decided not to brag about bad stuff never happening to me. If I do happen to mention it, I always make sure to knock on wood as if that even makes a difference.

6 - I am willing to try ALMOST anything once. My family lived in Australia for a couple of years and while we were there we ate water buffalo, crocodile and kangaroo. I have never turned down a rollercoaster ride. On a family vacation, me and my sister thought that we would enter ourselves into a bull riding event at a rodeo just so we could tell people we've done it. I was never so scared in my life waiting for them to announce my name and open the gate. This bull was HUGE, had sharp horns, and was not about to let me ride it. (ok, well maybe it was just a really big, mean steer but it still could've killed me easily) There were like 7 cowboys around me trying to keep me from chickening out. They showed me how to hold onto the rope with both hands but I wanted to be a real cowgirl and do it one-handed with the other hand waving gracefully in the air. I lasted maybe a second, just long enough to wave to the video camera...

7 - I am part Indian. My Great Grandma was found on a doorstep and was Indian but we don't know what tribe she was from. I was named after that great grandma. Another interesting thing about that side of the family is that her son (my Grandpa Weston)was a convert to the LDS church and has recorded his conversion story which has become a strong missionary tool. His story is called "The 17 Point/Evidences of the True Church".

Ok, so here are the lucky people who are now tagged and get to tell everyone a little more about them!

1- Becky Freestone - http://beckyshae.blogspot.com/
2- Ashley Gaskell - http://gaskells04.blogspot.com/
3- Jo Leavitt - http://cjleavitt.blogspot.com/
4- Michelle Tolboe - http://tolboeslovecali.blogspot.com/
5- Kaymee Cottrell - http://thebcottrells.blogspot.com/
6- Katie Taggart - http://spencerandkatietaggart.blogspot.com/
7- Cherie Mull - http://twoandahalfmulls.blogspot.com/

Now you get to share 7 things about you, put on a link to my page (like I did to Abby's) and tag 7 other people by listing their names on your blog as well as leaving comments on their blogs.

Halloween nightmare...

So I thought it would be cute to have Dane be a vampire for halloween bc he has soo much dark hair. I planned to slick his hair back and draw a little widows peak on his forehead but was kind of worried about how I would scrub it off after. I use thick hair paste on his hair usually to style it but his hair is soo fine that it still does not stay how I style it. I remembered my friend saying that she uses egg whites to make her hair look naturally curly and that it stays that way for days. If it worked for her hair than I thought for sure it would work for Danes. I decided to use egg whites and comb his hair forward so I wouldn't have to draw a widows peak because his bangs would be combed down his forehead to form the widows peak. well it worked well until he started having an allergic reaction and his face and neck started turning red with little rashes. After taking a couple of pictures of my cute little vampire I gave him a bath and washed out his hair. The rash seemed like it was still spreading so we made a trip to Albertsons to get something for it and ask the pharmacist what we should do. Anyways,....pharmacist said not to use anything on a baby this young, rash gradually got better, and went to ward trunk or treat without our costumes on. I have never felt sooo dumb. I know that babies can have allergies to eggs but I just assumed bc he was not eating them I had nothing to worry about bc I was only putting it in his hair. Ryan keeps reminding me how dumb that was and I know he is going to tell everyone what I did so I thought I would tell people first so I could justify myself.

Notice the rash on his forehead and cheek in the pictures below...poor boy!

My next goal in life....

okay so I tevoed 'dancing with the stars' last night and am watching it right now. I am amazed by all of the dancers bodies. It really makes me want to take up dance lessons. So I have given it some serious thought and have made it my goal to be on 'dancing with the stars' next season as either the "star" or the professional without any lessons.

THE crawl

This is the cutest most ineffective way to crawl. ONe day he will get it.

Dane Is So Ready to Crawl

Dane has been trying to move around the last couple of days. He either pushes himself up with his arms but his legs are lifeless... or his chest is on the ground and his bottom is in the air. Sometimes he gets his legs kicking and pushing on the ground but in the end, one of his legs somehow overlaps the other and then when he kicks with his one free legs it flips him onto his back. It is so funny. I love that he keeps trying. I am pretty sure that one of these days soon it will just come to him and he will be all over the place. I better start baby proofing my place. aaahhh!!!... I don't think I am ready for a crawler.

Can't wait!!

Ryan just informed me today that we are part of an intramural volleyball team that starts playing next week. Um... I have not played volleyball since high school but it should be really fun. I need to figure out what to do with Dane while we are playing bc it will be past his bed time. I am so excited to something else to break up my week a little more. Hopefully the weather continues to be nice here bc the games are outdoors and in the sand. I will let you know how our team does.... well, I will just go ahead and tell you now... WE DOMINATED EVERY GAME!!!

Can you say...AWKWARD!!?!!

I love this video clip of David Letterman interviewing Paris Hilton. I kind of feel bad for her bc of how awkward he made her interview when she was there promoting her new movie and perfume but I can help but laugh histerically bc of all of his awesome questions he throws at her. She squirms the whole time as the audience just laughs at her.

This clip is awesome!

So Stinkin Busted

The other night when I was making dinner, Dane was just hanging out on the kitchen counter. I turned my head for 1 second and when I looked back I saw him attacking the bread I had just bought. I couldn't help but record it without him knowing. The little stinker smashed the whole loaf!!

This past week...

Well,... RYan has pneumonia (I know, what the crap???) and I am making him wear these masks so he doesn't get me and the baby sick. Haha doesn't he look like a dentist?
I love this little boy's smile!!
I can always get a giggle when I hang Dane upside down.

SuuuuPERMAN!!!
Did someone say pose?
Dane asleep in the high chair (I forgot where i put him and then found him asleep like this, am I a bad mom or do all first time moms lose their kids at least once?)

Dane swimming with Grandpa Weston

Dane is ready for church, he has his face mask and fish but where are his scriptures?

Dane is sooo handsome in this picture!

Missionary or baseball player???
I just chopped off my hair and am trying to get used to it. I cut it bc my hair was falling out like crazy bc of having a baby. Whatever wasn't falling out on its own was being ripped out by Dane.

Our New Home for the next 10 years

At the beginning of Aug. we moved to Glendale, AZ. for Ryan to attend medical school. So far we love our place, the pool is awesome, and we have made many friends. It is nice having my sister and her family only about 45 minutes away from us (Gilbert). Hopefully the rest of our family will be coming out to visit often because there are two of our families out here instead of just me, Ryan, and Dane.
