After dinner, Dane kept pointing to one of Ryan's medical books saying "reee" "reee!" Ryan just ignored him figuring he would be happy with any book but Dane wanted that one! He kept yelling "Reee!!" louder and louder so finally Ryan sat down with Dane and read the book. Here Ryan is reading his First Aid USMLE book (a book to help him study for the boards). He would point out pictures and explain what they were. Dane would find a cell and yell "ball!" or he would find some other images that looked like it could be a monster or something and he would roar. Ryan was so funny, he showed him what his lungs would like if he smoked, taught him about lupus and what it looks like, and showed him a picture of some hands of a person with gout- i think Dane growled at that one too bc it was scary looking). It was a pretty funny evening.

how funny! hey...ryan can get in his studying and dane can become a dr!
That is too funny! And that is great he likes to read. Smart kid!
That's just plain adorable and AWESOME that Dane will sit down and read with you guys. It's always a power struggle over here since Mr. Not-So-Gentle-Fingers always wants to turn (or should we say "tear") the pages himself.
It is fun that they are the same age - we really should find a time to get together. Heaven knows I'd love a trip to the pool to feel less of this baby pressing on my lower back.
Cute! Somebody wants to be a Dr. like his daddy...
He is so smart! Caysja LOVES to read too. She would have me read to her all day if I would do it.
It is crazy how the love of reading is a swear born in them. Bristol my 3yr old has always loved reading and still does. She will read by herself for almost an hour. She loved being read to as well when she was really little. It is totally opposite with my one year old. She likes to look at books (mostly by herself) but doesn't want to sit still to listen to a story. It is great when they love to read. It is a great entertainment tool in car rides or church.
Calling Dr. Dane Skinner.
hey stranger. how are you, other than reading lots to dane. i foresee another doctor i the family. pretty cute.
That's so cute! Dane is such a smart kid, I'm glad we have him in our nursery class!
I think I'm seeing Dane following in Daddy's footsteps. :)
What a great thing for him to love! You are right-Sam forgot E's suitcase last time. Poor guy sounds neglected.
Hey--just wanted to tell you what a great job you did on your talk at Stk. Conf.! It was awesome to hear it again. You didn't even seem nervous! I guess that's what you get for having the Stk. Pres. in our ward, eh?
