This, by far, was my most miserable pregnancy and delivery.
I got my epidural which was awesome until it wore off after an hour of pushing which left me pushing for a whole other hour completely feeling everything including being stitched back up. I bet Ryan has never heard screaming like he heard that night. I was a mess!!!
Finally after 2 hours of pushing my 8 lb 10 oz baby girl joined us, as soon as the Dr. left the nurse called him to come back because she was "uncomfortable with how much blood I was losing". That made me feel great;).
I have a history of fainting right after giving birth so I warned my nurse which let me stay in the room a little longer than usual until I felt ok. As soon as I got in the wheel chair to be wheeled to my room everything went silent and started going black. She kept telling me to open my eyes and keep talking to her but I couldn't stop my head from wobbling and I really didn't care at that point what she wanted.
As soon as I got in my room and in my bed I felt better and all of the nurses were warned about me. hahaha. They decided to keep my catheder and IV in so that I didn't have to get up the rest of the night because no one wanted to have to clean me up off of the floor.
The next morning the nurse came in and told me that my hemoglobin was extremely low and that they wanted me to get a blood transfusion. (it is supposed to be at a 13- before the delivery mine was at 8 and after it dropped to 6.4) In other words I had lost a ton of blood and was completely anemic. I decided not to do the transfusion and to try Iron pills first.
They then introduced me to my new antibiotic for a UTI i was getting. I could not believe my luck!
Both of my boys were a little jauniced at birth so I figured this baby probably would be too. She was a little jauniced when we left the hospital Saturday morning. I scheduled the follow up with her pediatrician on Monday where we got her newest lab results. Her biliruben was at a dangerous level so my Dr. told us he was admitting her to the hospital to control it. It was supposed to be for 2 days that she was in the hospital but she got to come home after one day luckily.
As exhausted as I have been I felt I was starting to feel comfortable with the whole 3 kid thing (haha) until last night I felt the beginning of a mastitis infection. This morning I felt that it was full blown (I had mastitis when Dane was a baby- the WORST pain of my life). I started my newest antibiotic tonight and along with my percocet I am feeling a little better and hope to have better luck in the next couple of days.
All I can say is that as crappy and draining as the last week has been, this little girl has totally been worth every bit of it.
She has lots of dark hair like Dane but blue eyes like Johnny.

She is BEAUTIFUL!!!! I hope everything starts looking up for you. I love all her hair. I bet her brothers just love her. I've got to come see her as soon as you feel better.
Carlie...I'm so so sorry! Wow, everything will feel like a cake walk from here on out after all of that! I'm so glad that you are okay and that your BEAUTIFUL baby is healthy. Congrats to you and Ryan!
Ohhhh Im so in love with her name. love love love how cute and chubby she is. Im so sorry to hear about your crazy story. ughh I have never heard one quite like that. Mastitis is the worst thing ever. I had it with Lola and wanted to die. Horrible. I'm bringing you dinner whenever your Mom leaves. Get me on your schedule for dinners, girl. Good luck with everything and sleep when you can. Miss ya
Good grief Carlie! I can't even imagine all that! UTI, Mastitis, Anemia, delivering a child, aaaaaaaah! I hope that things start to calm down for you over there. She is a beautiful baby and I love her name. How cute! I want to come see you some time, but I'll give you a little more time. I wish I could help out. Anyways, take care. I'm thinking of you and hoping you feel better fast!!! Hang in there!

CONGRATS you guys!!! I'm so happy for you! She is beautiful--just like her mom! So sorry for everything you've had to go through, Carlie. No fun! Hope you start to feel better soon. Hang in there!
Congrats to such a beautiful girl! I am so happy that you could deliver 8 days early. I hope you are doing better now.
Congrats on Roxy! What a cute name. My second baby girl was the exact same measurements for weight and height. Let me tell you they do a number on you for pregnancy and delivery. I actually hemorrhaged with her 10 days after I had her. I had to have a blood transfusion. It was crazy but like you believe it is all worth it for the little beauties. My last little girl I had four months ago has been my smallest and quickest labor. The doctor didn't even make it to the hospital. I was only in labor for about 4 hours from start to finish. She was born on the bed. They didn't have time to break the bed down or anything.
I have never had mastitis, but I have heard it is the worst. I don't know about you but your pregnancies always seem to go by so fast to me.
Your kids are so adorable, maybe one day our kids can meet up. Where is your husband doing his audition rotations at? What field is he looking at?
Car! your kids are all so dang cute. haha when i was reading your delivery story i thought..huh this sounds familiar..only minus the c-section. i cant believe how big she was! good job girl:) cant wait to see which brother she looks most like as she grows or if she will be her own little mixture..
